Dear Diary,
I did 30 minutes of My Fitness Coach today. Focus for the day was Lower Body.

I'm not sure if I'm doing the lunges correctly or not. Maya said I should focus on the glutes of the front leg, but it's usually the front thigh of my back leg that is getting the strain. Though it could be that I'm doing them correctly but since I'm not very flexible it is putting more strain on the back leg then it should.

Dear Diary,
I did 30 minutes of My Fitness Coach today. Focus for the day was... Flexibility? I'm afraid I wasn't paying enough attention to what I was selecting. I just followed Maya's little mark.Smile I did a lot of yoga/stretching exercises so I'm pretty sure it was flexibility today. That's what I was due for anyway.

Well, I've gotten to "gold" status now which means I unlocked another type of music and a different location. I think that's it for the music but I have 2 more locations to open up.

Maya's telling me that next time is my Physical Challenge since it's been 10 exercise sessions since the last one. We'll see if there's any change this time.

Dear Diary,
Today was the Physical Challenge for My Fitness Coach today. My measurements were about consistent with what they have been... no surprise there. I knew when I started to exercise that it wasn't likely I would lose very much (if any) weight or inches. I was hoping to get a little bit more trimmed and toned but I'm not sure that's happening quite yet.

My resting heart rate was about the same but my elevated heart rate was lower. I'm not sure how accurate this is though since I don't have a heart rate monitor but am just counting. I know that when she has me do jumping jacks in the regular cardio routine that it seems to be getting a little easier to do them.

Otherwise, I did slightly better in squats and pushups and about the same in crunches. Man, do I hate crunches!

Dear Diary,
I did 30 minutes of My Fitness Coach today. Focus for the day was Upper Body.

I just got a step today so I entered that as part of my equipment. Since today's focus was upper body I didn't really expect to use it at all. Surprisingly, it was used for some of the cardio exercises and also Maya had me sitting on the step for some of the upper body exercises.

I do have a complaint though. The cardio exercises tend to be one after another without any rests in between but not all the cardio step exercises were together. So there were times were I was trying to quickly get the step out so I could use it and then quickly get it out of the way so I could do the next exercise. It was better with the upper body exercises since I had rests between each exercises so it was easier to get the step into position and then out of the way when I was done during the rest portion. What I eventually did for the cardio portion was to put the step in a position so I could use it, but out far enough so I wasn't tripping over it for the other exercises.

I've been using 2lb weights for all the upper body exercises even for the ones where Maya doesn't tell me to. Since the upper body exercises haven't been all that challenging with just the 2lb weights I just ordered 3lb weights but unfortunately they haven't come yet. I am planning on using the 3lb weights for the exercises that request the weights and the 2lb for the other ones.

It is nice to know that your efforts are being noticed, isn't it? Would you believe that I never worked out really at all until a couple of months ago? Sometimes I think you have to be ready for change and have good motivation before you can make something like exercise a part of your life. If you just think it's something you should do than it won't happen. Did that make any sense? Oh well Smile

I've also been very, very impressed with My Fitness Coach. It keeps things the same enough so that I don't get lost but different enough that I'm not bored. I don't think I would still be keeping up with this if it wasn't for that "game".

Anyway, I'm from the other end of Ohio in the Cleveland area.

I did 30 minutes of My Fitness Coach today. Focus for the day was Core.

I'm surprised I'm not at platinum level yet. That should have happened 9 consecutive sessions after I unlocked gold. I'm wondering if it's because I didn't do a workout after the physical challenge so it might have reset the counter. Next session will be 9 workouts since the last physical challenge so maybe I'll get to platinum then. This also means that Friday will be my next physical challenge since it will be 10 workouts since the last one.

I did the Physical Challenge and a 30 minute workout of My Fitness Coach today. Focus for the day was Flexibility.

Physical Challenge Results for 05/08/2009:
resting heart rate – 78 bpm
elevated heart rate – 174 bpm
squats – 44
push-ups – 15
crunches – 24

Overall I was pretty much the same as last time. I did manage to do a few more squats, push-ups and crunches but some of that is just me trying to beat my previous “score”.

Well, I still did not get to use my new 3lb weights. Last time I told Maya that my workout was too easy so she decided to increase the intensity by giving me more push-ups. Sad I don't know which I hate more: crunches or push-ups. I think I'm going to have to go with crunches but push-ups are a close second.
